About Unity Through the Arts and Sciences

The Peterson School Unity Through the Arts & Sciences is a way for our school community to increase exposure and access for our families to all of the multicultural arts and science experiences that Chicago has to offer, celebrating the arts and sciences as unique and rich ways to bridge our cultural and language diversity.  Our unique neighborhood school celebrates that our families collectively represent over 43 languages and cultures right here in Chicago.

Admission to the event is free so that every family and community member can feel included! However, the Friends of Peterson will be accepting tax-deductible donations that evening to support the amazing work of Peterson School.
The Festival will allow participating families to “make, take and enjoy” art; there will be galleries of student art work; performances by students; an interactive drum circle; hula hoop dancing; and more…there will be something for everyone to enjoy!
  • The Unity Through the Arts Festival Committee is especially grateful to the following:
    • Peterson’s amazing art, music, and STEM faculty,
    • Our generous and supportive donors and Friends of Peterson,
    • Our hardworking Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Parent Advisory Council (PAC) and Local School Council (LSC),
    • Our parent and community volunteers, and
    • Our encouraging and supportive school leadership team!
